• Spanish Proficiency .

    TEC de Monterrey, campus Guadalajara helps to place you at the correct Spanish level. All the international students who come from non-Spanish speaker countries have to do the Spanish Placement process. You will be evaluated in three different ways:

    • Online Spanish Test: this test will have to be done by the student before arrival. The instructions will be given by email.
    • One-page paper: this test will have to be done by the student before arrival. You have to write a one-page paper and send it to the Teacher Ana Meza by email (ana.meza@itesm.mx ). The suggested topics for this paper are: aborto, racismo, guerra, el uso del internet, la importancia del intercambio cultural, la globalización (ventajas y desventajas), el problema de la pobreza en el mundo.
    • Interview: Upon arrival, as part of the activities of the orientation week, you will have a short interview in Spanish with one of the Spanish professor.
    Once finished this process, your Spanish level will be determined by the Language department. So you will be able to register in the correct Spanish courses. This process is also required to authorize you to take regular courses in Spanish with Mexicans students even if you are not interested in courses for learning Spanish. The cost of the Spanish Placement Fee is $100 Mexican pesos payable at the Treasury in campus with cash.
